Ronald's Birthday

I know I haven't been posting lately, but I'll try to catch up in the next few days. This is the card I made for my oldest nephew to celebrate his birthday. The day I made this, I was blessed to have Hailey for the afternoon. We enjoyed the time together, but her little hands weren't strong enough to punch all the shapes. By the time we were finished, my hands were so sore! Now if I could just have someone show me how to PLAY Angry Birds, I may get somewhere with the game!

tumbler

I have a friend that loves this card. Naturally, I tucked one away for her to give to her on her birthday. We took a road trip and I noticed that she always brings a cup of coffee with her. I mean a real cup, not a cup with a lid. Without a lid, coffee ends up everywhere. So I made this tumbler with LID using the same folder! How do you like it? Haven't even made one for me yet!

Deets:

Tumbler, Pink Metal Sheet, Manhattan Flower Impressions Folder, Paper Stumps, and a Sanding Block

Father's Day '11

I don't get to see my Father-in-Law as often as I would like, but my husband was able to deliver this Father's Day card in person. I inked the Pheasant stamp with 3 different colors, then huffed (and puffed, just kidding!) and stamped on the paper. You have to clean the stamp every time you do this so the colors won't bleed into the ink pads. also, start with the lightest color and move toward the darker. The splatter is from the spritzer tool. It shoots a stream of air to the tip of a marker and blows ink drops all over the place. The markers don't seem wet enought to have ink just spraying out of them, but it really works!

Deets:

Stamps: Pheasant Thoughts

Paper: Night of Navy, More Mustard, Old Olive, Naturals Ivory

Inks: Night of Navy, More Mustard, Old Olive

Accessories: Spritzer, Dimensionals

Mother's Day '11

Here is my Mother's Day card for this year. It was a lot of cutting, but it made for a really nice multi-dimentional effect. I stamped flowers and leaves on the paper above the basket and also stamped other flowers and leaves that I attached on top of them. Some are popped up and some were just glued on top. I water- colored the flowers leaves and basket.

Deets:

Stamps: Basket of Blossoms, Watercolor Vine Wheel

Paper: Rose Red, Confetti White

Inks: Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Old Olive, Mellow Moss, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel

Accessories: Dimentionals, Red Hemp

I really enjoy this time of year. Spring is in the air and tulips are at the grocery store! I just love, love LOVE tulips! I think it's because they don't last very long and they are so delicate. I try to get a bunch when ever I can. I just finished my Easter card. I sponged the edges of the white card stock with pale plum ink to really make it pop. In case you can't read the stamp, it says,"May God's love bring you never-ending joy."

Deets:

Stamps: Never Ending Joy

Paper: Mellow Moss, Pale Plum, White

Inks: VersaMark, Mellow Moss, Pale Plum, Perfect Plum

Accessories: Sponge

Oriental card

I had so much fun making this card. I didn't use any stamps, but I think you can still see me in it. I found the image on Google and made the actual Chinese characters with a gold zig painty pen. Mounted the picture on cardstock and ran it through my crimper. I even made the tassels.
Deets:
Paper: Red, Black, Gold
Accessories: Crimper, Zig Painty Pen, Punch

Wedding Card and Gift Tag

Had some time to play with anything I wanted, so I made this set. I like the way is came out, but I had a hard time with the ribbons. I thought they would look better if I didn't stay in the lines while coloring them, but it was hard to go outside them and still have them look like it was meant to be that way!
Deets:
Stamps: Wedding Wishes
Paper: Naturals White, Not Quite Navy
Inks: Black, River Rock, Green, Red

Hershey Roses

I made 6 of these long stem roses with gold centers and 6 with silver centers. I sprayed the gold centered ones with gold glimmer mist, but when I tested the silver spray, it looked black. The pedals are made from the ornament punch and the center is 2 kisses glued together. Gave them to my pastor's wife for her birthday. (C)STAMPIN' UP! TFL

I made 1/2 dozen of these with gold centers and gold smooch on the pedals and

Roses & Carnations

Made these for my Pastor's wife. It was mt dh's husband that suggested putting red paper shreds in the bottom and a bow. Carnations were made with the scalloped punch and roses were made with the flower punch. Both punches are Stampin Up! TFL

On a Flower Kick

I've been wanting to make flowers for such a long time! I just didn't want to put them on cards because the are too big. My Pastor's wife is having a birthday soon, so I will make a bunch of flowers for her. The first thing I tried is the candle flower. It uses a battery operated tea light, white and green card stock, Rose Red ink, the ornament & 1 3/8" punches, glue, glitter and a lot of curling, scraping and sponging. It looks a whole lot better IRL.

Valentine's Day '11

I know it seems like a long time since I posted a card on here, but I have been making a stash of copies of cards. Here is my Valentine card. It's distressed, which takes a long time to do! Nice card for someone who doesn't like all the frilly stuff. I colored different parts of the heart stamp instead of having it just one color. What do you think?
Deets:
Stamps: Listen with the Heart, Itty Bitty Backgrounds, AYC
Paper: Ruby Red, Mellow Moss, Perfect Plum, Naturals Ivory
Inks: Black, Ruby Red, Perfect Plum
